1. Flying from Bangkok to Trat:
Bangkok Airways are the owners of Trat Airport and therefore have a monopoly on the daily flights to/from Bangkok. The prices for the 40 minute shuttle service isn’t cheap, with prices from 3,100 – 3,500 Baht/person one way depending on time of year, it can be a stress free way of getting there but the costs are prohibitive. Be warned the airline has a habit of cancelling flights if they aren’t too full, something which is all too common in Asia, so do double check your flight, even in high season.

2. Buses from Bangkok
The best route on time and money is the bus from Ekamai Bus Station to the Trat ferry piers, with prices around 300 Baht per person.

3. By Mini Bus from Bangkok
There are many mini buses plying between Bangkok and Ao Thammachat, Centre Point and Laem Ngob piers. Mini bus transfers from the Victory Monument in Bangkok to Ao Thammachat ferry pier, and vice versa start at 05:00 a.m. and the last trip is at 07:00 p.m. The mini bus leaves every 2 hours and costs 300 Baht per person. For those in Koh Chang (66 8 7833 7696), you can buy tickets at Ao Sapparos pier. For those in Bangkok (66 8 7833 8985), you can proceed to the parking lot for mini buss at the northeast corner of the Victory Monument.
The same company that operates VIP buses, the Suvarnabhumi Burapa Co., Ltd., also has a fleet of mini buss that travel to Suvarnabhumi airport daily. It leaves Koh Chang at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. Mini buss from the airport park at 1st floor, Exit 8 and leaves at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m.

4. There are several ferries to Koh Chang
On arrival at any of the ferry piers on Koh Chang, you will find mini pick-up truck taxis called Songthaews (a pick-up truck with seating running down both flanks of the rear of the vehicle) ready to take you anywhere on Koh Chang, for 50 to 150 Baht per person depending on the distance. We are approx. 20 mins away and the fare is approx. 150Baht, always agree the price with the driver before getting on board the Songthaews.
